Every day…

I have to share the awesome app I use to negate this issue!
it’s called Medisafe and it’s a free app available in the app store or on google play and it allows you to input all your medications and:
-choose the shape, color, and dosage of each medication (including indicating if it’s an injection or a pill or an inhaler)-notate the dosage and/or # of pills-each time of day/night it needs to be taken-add food or other special instructions-schedule refill reminders-add a med-friend (someone who will be notified if you forget to take it!)
The interface is great and i’ve found it very easy to use.  You can also add meds to take “as needed” so you can indicate that you’ve taken an out-of-time painkiller or booster pill etc.
When it’s time to take your pills it uses the text-notifcation noise on your phone to alert you- so it’s lowkey, but (usually) unmissable.  When it’s time, you have the option to snooze, dismiss, or take pills.  OR you can just shake your phone to indicate that you’ve taken them (I usually either snooze or shake the phone).
It tracks your progress too and you can export yourself an excel spreadsheet of your pill taking to give your physician etc if needed.
You can set the snooze time manually, the maximum number of alarms, all kinds of things- you can set your own alert sound too if you don’t want it to use your text-notification.
.
I am TERRRRRRRIBLE about remembering pills (seriously, I forgot for 3 weeks).  I haven’t missed a dose since I started using it and it’s fantastic.

S I G N A L B O O S T
I know a lot of folk have trouble with this so this could be super helpful!

Wow I need this.

Hey, thanks! That’s awesome!

What's the best way for a poor person to avoid buying sweatshop stuff? I hate what happens in sweatshops but at the same time my options are limited due to money and what's being sold in my area :( Do you have any advice?

Thrift is the only thing i can think of

Not buying from sweatshops would do nothing to improve the lives of the workers so it’s probably best to not waste energy on shopping “ethically” and concentrate on organising our own workplaces and communities.

Over the past decade, factory and sweatshop workers across East and South Asia have been militantly organising. Their unions are getting stronger, they are taking direct action against bosses and militias, and they are gaining better wages and working conditions all the time.

To boycott the products they make, when no union or sweatshop workers are calling for a boycott, doesn’t strengthen their struggle, it’ll weaken it.

Nike or Primark, whatever you buy you’re buying from exploited workers. And that includes the first world primark shop workers and delivery people. You cannot boycott capitalism under a globalised capitalist system.

Boycotts lead to less profits lead to already exploited workers being laid off. Unless they call for a boycott (in which they’ve hopefully prepared for the fallout) you’re only added more exploitation and starvation. It’s a fucking terrible tight-rope act that was purposefully designed to weaken solidarity and direct action.

i’ve got a mission for u nerds

supreme-goose-overlord:

ok!! so as some of u probably know by now, i have anxiety and dermatillomania/excoriation disorder. for those of u who who are unaware, derma basically means i almost always feel this urge to pick at my skin. i started scratching about fourteen years ago, so it’s safe to say i’ve done quite a bit of damage, and it’s been going on too long for me to be able to stop on my own :(

so!! the other day, my wonderful therapist (i love her) was like, “why don’t u put lil encouraging notes next to mirrors and ur bed and other places u normally are when u scratch,” and then a bit later i was like, “what if i wrote all the notes in homestuck quirks,” because i’m trash.

that’s where you guys come in!! i have colored pens for all of the kids (except jade) and any trolls who type in similar colors (ex. kankri’s red is v similar to dave’s), so all u guys need to do is specify which character ur aiming for and then provide a little encouraging message u think that character would say to calm down someone who’s nervous or distract them from a rly strong urge (already in their quirk pls). it’s not much, but as a thank u, the submitters of the ones i end up using will get either a promo (to about 870) or a small drawing of one or two characters of ur choice (see tag “goose drew a thing” for examples, like the most recent one of dave and karkat)

feel free to ask if you have any questions!! gogogo!! :o

RAISE THE FUCKING MINIMUM WAGE

According to the Economic Policy Institute, the minimum wage in the United States would have been $18.28 in 2013 if the minimum wage kept pace with labor productivity.[28] To adjust for increased rates of worker productivity in the United States, raising the minimum wage to $22 (or more) an hour has been presented.[29][30][31][32]
